Welcome to the Hartington Cheese and Wine Recipe Page

Here we give you a helping hand on how to make your very own dishes using our delicious produce. All recipes featured here will be using products sold on our website, all available for you to make at home if you follow the simple steps in this guide.

Recipe of the Month; 

Recipe 3; Stilton Pie

Makes or Serves: 4-6


  • 175g (7oz) shortcrust pastry
  • 100g (4oz) blue stilton cheese‚ crumbled
  • 25g (1oz) full fat soft cheese
  • half green pepper‚ seeded and chopped
  • 1 tomato‚ skinned‚ seeded and chopped
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 150ml (quarter pint) fresh single cream
  • salt and pepper
  • pinch of grated nutmeg


Roll out pastry on a lightly floured worktop and line a 20cm (8 inch) flan ring.  Prick the base and bake blind for 10 to 15 minutes.

Mash the cheeses together and add the pepper and tomato.  Stir in eggs and fresh cream and season to taste with salt‚ pepper and nutmeg.

Pour into the flan case.

Bake for 20 to 30 minutes at 180 degrees C‚ 350 degrees F or gas mark 4.

Serve hot or cold.
